In my original post I wrote about wanting to try to improve my acne and the spot left behind after a life time of suffering. I decided to try a few items after I stumbled on to The Ordinary for their foundation. In June 2018 I purchased the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution and the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil and I've been using it for about 60 days.
The Good
The Rosehip Seed Oil is great so far. It is a bit sticky like castor oil and a little goes a long way. I would put three drops on my face, one on my forehead and one on each cheek. I used this each night after I used the toner. I noticed that my dark spots faded even the circles under my eyes after the first 30 days and I was impressed.
The Glycolic Acid picked up any traces of make up or build up left behind after I washed my face. My skin felt clean and it developed a shine.
The Not-So-Good
The Acid burned..ha ha.. No really. My skin is sensitive and I really didn't like the burning. It didn't tingle, that thing BURNED. I tried to use less and even with my shiny skin (probably from the burning) I stopped using it. Actually, I stopped using it when I became sick, unrelated, and I saw an improvement in my skin. I wrote that I suffer from Solar Urticaria and this thing was making it worse. I know that the directions said that it had a sunburn warning, so I used it at night. I didn't read the next sentence that said I should probably avoid the sun for the next week. I didn't do that. It's summer here! So I reduced it to once a week and I think I can live with that.
Overall, I would recommend the toner for people who don't have sensitive skin but I would suggest a scrub to alternate to make sure that your skin is replenishing. While doing this personal challenge I found a good facial scrub in Marhsalls that is just sea salt and coconut and I like it just fine. I would get something finely milled next time though.
One day at a time.
